Roommates
Most college students don't live at home. They know few people
near school and are very likely required by the school to live on
campus housing. When looking for a roommate there are many things to
consider.
Things to lookout for
- Are you a night owl or an early riser. If you like to stay
up until 2am getting work done it is best to try and find a
roommate who doesn't turn in at 10pm every night so they can get
up for an early morning run.
- Are you a neat freak or do you have a 2ft pile of dirty
dishes in the sink? Differences in cleaning styles can be a
major source of contention for roommates.
- Some like to get roommates with similar religious or
political beliefs. These are subjects that people feel very
strongly about and they are bound to come up. If you can't stand
someone who doesn't share your viewpoint on these subjects it
would be a good idea to consider this as a criteria.
There are many websites out there to help you find roommates once
you are off campus, in the end though there is no substitute for
getting to know your next roommate in person.
Roommates can be best friends for life or passing aquaintances.
Finding the right roommate can be a big challenge!
