Why is college important?

For many people the first and foremost reason to seek a college education is money. The annual income for college graduates is approximately 60% higher than those with only a highschool dipolma. But there are many other reasons...

• With a college degree your chances for a better job are increased. Employers are looking for people with skills and the standard measurement for an individual's skill levels in society today is a college degree.
• The college experience is a great one for many. Colleges go to great lengths to ensure the student life on campus is a good one. Outdoor clubs, theatre clubs, social organizations, greek life, and many more groups offer a once in a lifetime opporitunity to make new friends.
• College provides students with a life experience in a safe and controlled environment. For many it is the first time living on their own. Mom and Dad are gone, students actually have to decide on their own what to do when, be that eating, sleeping, studying. There is no adult supervision - only grades.
